“Wednesdays are the new Fridays,” at least according to Tom Hiddleston. Hey, if he told us the sky was actually chartreuse (Shout out to chartreuse!) with maroon polka dots, we’d believe him without a hint of reticence. On Wednesday, Marvel blessed us with the most glorious news — Loki has a new release date! Hiddleston, who plays the titular character, revealed it himself.
Now, Hiddleston made the big announcement via a short video that was posted to the official Marvel Twitter accounts. It opens with a brief superhero montage. Hiddleston politely interrupts (Adorably British) to air his grievances. Why does Loki always get pushed to the side with these things? Well, no more! Our favorite god of mischief can be heroic … sometimes. He’s cunning and charming as all get out.

However, Hiddleston opts to show rather than tell as a way of proving to us just how stately Loki truly is. Then, we see the screen reveal Loki‘s original premiere date. Suddenly, it transforms into a new and, arguably, better release date. Our bodies are ready.
Loki finds our glorious god imprisoned by the Time Variance Authority after snatching the Tesseract and vanishing in Avengers: Endgame. He’s asked by Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) to help the TVA fix the multiple timelines that have been fractured because of the stolen Tesseract.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Sophia Di Martino and Richard E. Grant round out the main cast. As per Marvel’s usual, intricate plot details regarding the show are being kept under lock and key. Michael Waldron serves as head writer with Kate Herron at the helm as director.
You can watch the brief clip below. Loki will crash into our timeline on Wednesday, June 9, only on Disney Plus.
