Michael Waldron is burdened with glorious purpose and it’s taking him to a galaxy far, far away. According to Deadline, the head writer/executive producer for Loki will be penning the script for a Kevin Feige-developed Star Wars film. Waldron also wrote Benedict Cumberbatch vehicle Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Additionally, Deadline reports that the Star Wars project is part of an overall deal that Waldron inked with Disney. And there’s this: “Besides writing this new Star Wars film, the deal is also expected to bring back Waldron in some capacity for Season Two of Loki.” If this is true, then we’ll be getting more trickster god shenanigans! Praise be to Odin!
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard wind of a Feige Star Wars flick. Apparently, rumors began churning through the entertainment grapevine after the success of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. However, Disney Investor Day came and went with no mention of such a project.

Meanwhile, Michael Waldron has been cultivating quite a prolific resume. He started out writing and producing for Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty. Waldron won an Emmy for his work on Season Four of the critically acclaimed show. Besides Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Waldron created and executive produced Heels, an impending wrestling drama for Starz.
Waldron and Feige will be a dream team as far as I’m concerned. Feige has been an integral cog in the machine of Marvel’s successful cinematic universe. Waldron is adding some heavy hitters to his repertoire and will undoubtedly write a Star Wars movie for the ages.
