Logan was a huge success this year. With great writing and beautiful visuals, the film has shot to the top of people’s favorite films list. And with director James Mangold sharing behind the scenes photos in black and white, fans were sucked in to the potential of a black and white film. Now, it seems, they’ll get the version they’ve been picturing.

Shared in a tweet from Mangold himself, he dropped a hint to fans. A rather large hint. “Hard core B&W loving LOGAN fans should not make any plans on the evening of May 16th.” He released more details in replies to fans and unfortunately for fans internationally, they will not be getting it in theaters. While he answered that the blu-ray release will have a black and white version of the film, it would get a theatrical release for one day.

Currently there is no tickets available online but fans are encouraged to keep an eye out for available tickets. Fans who are unable to attend will have the option of seeing it in their homes when the blu-ray is released on May 23rd. Last year, Mad Max: Fury Road got a black and white treatment as well. Hollywood may be getting on board with the black and white versions of their best films – we’ll see what the future brings.
