We are getting some terrific news coming out of Gamescom 2019 this week. One I am extremely excited for is the new Little Nightmares 2! From the creators of the original Little Nightmares, Tarsier Studios, we are following the story of the little girl in the yellow raincoat, Six. The original game was known for its grim atmosphere that was still beautiful to play through.
The Little Nightmares 2 trailer shows us that they haven’t lost their edge. Six is back and it looks like she is exploring a much larger outside world this time around. From the trailer it looks like we will be traveling alongside her companion Mono. We didn’t get much information regarding gameplay, however it was hinted that there is going to be defensive combat this time around.
While we did not get enough information, what we did see has me extremely excited. The platformer genre has so many possibilities if the designers are able to really think outside of the box. Tarsier Studios was able to draw us in with the original Little Nightmares so it is completely believable that the second will be even more incredible. I hope we are going to get to see a few new mechanics this time around along with the new settings.
While we don’t have an exact release date just yet, Little Nightmares 2 is set to drop in 2020 for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch. If you have not had a chance to explore the world of Little Nightmares you can purchase the first game on Steam here. Check out the official Tarsier Studios website to keep up with news and trailers.
