When it comes to scoring a movie, John Williams is a master. He is amazing at writing music to be in relationship to the movie and enhance the story and characters, rather that being a distraction. When I was a kid I had an album, yes I am old and listened to music on lp’s when I was younger. Not CD’s, albums. Anyway I had a best of John Williams that had music from Jaws, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Superman and by far, Lois’s Theme was something that I could listen to over and over.
When I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I was in love with Rey’s theme. It is such a perfect depiction of that character. Strong and vulnerable, lonely and determined.
YouTuber, Reengoe, brought to our attention Rey and Luke’s theme music and how it is in such harmony with each other, and wow is it gorgeous! It gave me chills. A moment I hadn’t even noticed since the music isn’t actually featured on the official soundtrack and only appears in the end credits of Episode 7. So thank you!!!
It also raises the question again, how are they connected? Let the speculation run wild. Is she Luke’s daughter, is she related to Obi Won? Is she Maz Kanata’s second cousin’s granddaughter’s niece, twice removed? Not sure, but I can’t imagine that it’s just coincidence that the themes are intertwined!
