Lisbeth Is Back in First Trailer for THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo became a sensation, both in it’s original Swedish print and the subsequent films. So it makes sense for them to adapt yet another book in the Millennium series by author David Lagercrantz. Enter The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a film taking Lisbeth into a criminal society as she faces the past. This film is based on the 4th book in the series – so do not go searching for answers if you do not want to be spoiled!

The trailer gives us a look into what Lisbeth has been up to. She’s grown into a cult figure, harming men who hurt women. We see her blackmail a wife-beating CEO, who was aquitted in court for beating up two prostitutes. She leaves him penniless and confused when she’s done with him, further cementing her status as a defender of women. But it seems there was one mysterious woman that she could not save, and she’s here to ask why, while also causing trouble for Lisbeth. Her ties to Lisbeth are what could tear her world apart. This film will seemingly explore her past while also paving her way for the future.

Claire Foy is barely recognizable in the role – it’s stunning. The trailer mainly focuses on her and her performance and we cannot wait to see it. Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller. Golden Globe winner Claire Foy, the star of “The Crown,” will play the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016’s breakout thriller Don’t Breathe; the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu.
