About Like a Dragon: Yakuza
Like a Dragon: Yakuza is a live-action adaptation of SEGA’s hit video game franchise. Though the series is based on the long-running game franchise, expect a new, original story. The crime-suspense-action series took place in Kamurochōm from 1995 to 2005.

Kazuma Kiryu, played by Ryoma Takeuchi, faces the repercussions of his decisions as a fearsome Yakuza warrior. The series follows the lives of childhood friends and Kiryu, who struggles with his strong sense of duty, justice and humanity.
Panel Announcements
During a Like a Dragon: Yakuza panel at SDCC 2024, fans of the beloved SEGA video game franchise watched the official teaser trailer. The trailer is the first look at the live-action adaptation directed by the critically acclaimed Masaharu.
Additionally, Prime Video announced the casting of Kento Kaku as Akira Nishikiyama, aka Nishiki. Panel participants included executive producer Erik Barmack and James Farrell, Head of International Originals at Amazon MGM Studios. Also in attendance were series lead Ryoma Takeuchi and co-star Kento Kaku. The panel expressed their excitement for the series and shared what each brings to the adaptation.

Masayoshi Yokoyama, executive producer of RYU GA GOTOKU Studio, ended the panel with this special video message. Yokoyama shared his insights into creating the SEGA video game Like a Dragon.
