Happy Pride Month! We are here to celebrate with some of our favorite Webtoon series that feature LGBTQIA+ characters and stories! What’s great is that these aren’t limited to a specific genre or stereotype. They can be coming-of-age tales or fantasy adventures that take on serious tones or comedy. But these all have one thing in common – they represent the LGBTQIA+ community. And these aren’t the only ones! Webtoon has a long list of original series and canvas stories that fill this need! Check out which ones we can’t stop thinking about below and let us know which ones are your favorites in the comments below and on social media!

Mage & Demon Queen

One of my favorite LGBTQIA+ friendly Webtoon comics comes in the form of Color_LES‘ Mage & Demon Queen! In this fantasy story, adventurers work hard to take the head of the terrifying demon queen. However, Marloi Crowett only wants one thing from Demon Queen Velverosa. Her heart! And even though Velverosa keeps sending our poor Marloi back to the respawn cathedral, our little mage isn’t giving up! Thankfully everyone else in the tower can see that the two are meant to be; let’s just hope Velverosa can let her walls down so our lady can take her on a date!
Mage & Demon Queen is currently on hiatus, so catch up on seasons one and two here!
My Dictator Boyfriend

My Dictator Boyfriend comes from the minds of Teo and Guy and is one of my favorite Webtoon series to read and a fantastic LGBTQIA+ series. Immanuel, better known as Manny, is the brand new dictator of the fictional country Tauligia. He is young and quite inexperienced. But he is harboring a shocking secret. Our Manny is gay. And so is his bodyguard, Jean-Jacques! The series covers various topics, including sexuality, ethnic diversity, immigration, nationalism vs. globalism and much more. Manny and J.J. are wonderful and are surrounded by other diverse and endearing characters!

Small World

What do you do when you’re having a bad day? Need a hug? Or just a good old laugh? Call your boyfriend, of course! In Small World from Wonsun Jin, Robin and Julien are just trying to navigate life in their own small world. This is such a wholesome read and LGBTQIA+ friendly! Each chapter is like a little glimpse into their lives and sometimes it’s funny and other times it will bring tears to your eyes. There are over 500 episodes and the perfect answer to when you’re having a rough day and need a virtual hug!
Small World updates every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday and can be read here!
Muted

My first and still one of my favorite LGBTQIA+ Webtoon series is Muted by Miranda Mundt! It is a supernatural web drama that everyone – and I mean everyone – needs to read! On Camille’s 21st birthday, she performs a ritual to summon a winged demon to help her family’s success and prosperity. But things go awry and Camille begins to unravel a whole hidden history. Seriously, this story is about a lesbian witch who is so precious and deserves all of the love in the world while simultaneously being a badass!
Muted updates every Friday and can be read here!
The Croaking

Fantasy and LGBTQIA+ have come together in Echorise‘s series The Croaking in a splendid way. Set at the most prestigious military academy known as The Roost, Scra is the first Crow to ever be accepted. However, his acceptance is shrouded in conspiracy and while that, along with the other mysterious things happening, should take up all of Scra’s time, he does also have his roommate Ky to contend with. You will fall in love with this story as they learn to love each other in this fantasy world!
The Croaking updates every Saturday and can be read here!
Heartstopper

Alice Oseman‘s Heartstopper is an LGBTQIA+ coming-of-age Webtoon about friend and love between two of England’s most adorable high school boys. Charlie is a high-strung, openly gay over-thinker who meets Nick, the cheerful soft-hearted rugby player currently coming to terms with his sexuality. Friendship strikes instantly between the two. Together, the two navigate their social and romantic lives surrounded by a community of friends and loving allies!

The Four of Them

High school has its twists and turns and that’s without your sister becoming your love rival! In The Four of Them from Mai Hirschfeld, friends Johnny, Mariel, Gaby and Martina have banded together to help navigate and survivor the ups and downs. This includes getting crushed by your crushes, coming out to your parents and dealing with the love rivals in your lives. Their only goal is to smile, survive and get through it all with their sanity intact. Like Heartstopper, this is a coming-of-age LGBTQIA+ story you need to read!
The Four of Them updates every Monday and can be read here!
Novae

One of my more recent additions to my must-read lists is KaixJu‘s Novae. This LGBTQIA+ series follows Raziol, an apprentice astronomer with a romantic heart and Sulivain, a kind-hearted necromancer with a troubled past. The two form a strong connection as they discover the cosmos together and everything seems perfect. That is until the body of a fellow astronomer is found and all signs point to dark magic. Raziol and Sulivain find that their lives have become entangled in ways they could never foresee.
