Sci-Fi royalty are hooking up for a new project.  Letitia Wright and John Boyega have signed on to star in a new film adapted from Katie Kahn’s science fiction novel, Hold Back the Stars.  Deadline reported, Thursday.

Wright (Black Mirror, Black Panther) and Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) will play a couple trapped in space.  They reminisce together about their love affair on Earth as they breath their last 90 minutes of oxygen.  The story has been described as “Romeo and Juliet meets Gravity.”

The book has gotten a lot of attention since it’s publication only about a year ago.  Mike Cahill, who recently directed two episodes of George R.R. Martin’s Nightflyers series, will direct Hold Back the Stars.  Christy Hall wrote the script.

Wright and Boyega will continue to be seen in their big-time genre roles.  For Wright, the Black Panther sequel is in the works and Avengers 4 is coming in 2019.  Boyega will appear in Star Wars: Episode IX, and voices a character in the new Watership Down mini-series from the BBC this Christmas.

We’ll keep you updated on more Hold Back the Stars news as it develops.
