Looks like there is a Star Trek 4 in our future. According to Deadline, Noah Hawley is in talks to write and direct the next Star Trek film. Hawley’s latest outing was Lucy in the Sky which opened to lackluster reviews. However, he’s also the force behind the critically acclaimed television series Fargo and Legion to name just a few.

You may remember that a Star Trek 4 had been in the works before with the original cast set to reprise their roles. Chris Hemsworth was even coming back as George Kirk and S.J. Clarkson was to set direct. There was a fallout with both Hemsworth and Chris Pine’s contract negotiations and the project never moved forward.

The entire cast is said to be on board for the Hawley project which includes Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban. No word on what the premise of Hawley’s Star Trek 4 will be about.

This project is not to be confused with the rated R Star Trek project that is moving forward with Quentin Tarantino at the helm.

Hawley will be producing Star Trek 4 with his 26 Keys company along with J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions.
