The Legend Begins in New TOMB RAIDER Poster

Erin Lynch

Lara Croft is one tough cookie. We were finally gifted with a poster for the rebooted Tomb Raider film, released on their Twitter page. While the poster doesn’t include the release date for some reason, fans are able to get a good glimpse at the archaeologist and part time warrior.

Unfortunately, the pose in the poster is the “female action hero butt shot”. On the bright side, we also get to see that this woman is powerful, with her arm muscles on full display. Alicia Vikander looks incredible! We also see what looks to be an ice axe in her hand. Possible weapon? Or will her Japanese adventure take her to Mt. Fuji?

It’s been with luck that it looks like the film will influence heavily from the rebooted game series. With a less sexualized Lara and more focus on her character, we’ll hopefully be able to witness new fans coming to appreciate the gaming icon. Maybe even garnering new fans. We’ll have to wait and see what Vikander, director Roar Uthaug and writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet came up with. As an aside, the color scheme in the poster is just beautiful. And I love that the logo has an arrow running through it, it’s a really nice touch.

Check out the poster below and let us know what you think! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Tomb Raider news. Tomb Raider will be in theaters March 16th, 2018.
