Tormund Giantsbane will be joining Philip Hamilton on an alien planet! Bet you thought that sentence was something you’d never read on the internet, but 2020 is wildly unpredictable. According to Deadline, Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju is heading into science fiction territory for the upcoming flick Distant. He’ll be teaming up with Hamilton star Anthony Ramos and Aladdin star Naomi Scott.
Here’s the premise for Distant: an asteroid miner crash-lands on an alien planet and decides to make his way across uncharted terrain to a woman trapped in her escape pod. Now, we’re not sure who Hivju will be portraying just yet, but my money is on Ramos as the asteroid miner and Scott as the woman trapped in her escape pod. Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the directors for Blades of Glory, will be at the helm. Spenser Cohen will be the film’s scribe.

Based solely on the knowledge that Speck and Gordon are directing, I have a feeling that this little-sci-fi-that-could will have a comedic tinge to it. I’m a huge advocate for laughing and science fiction, so this will elicit the best of both worlds as far as I’m concerned.
