The new official trailer for upcoming Season 7 of The Walking Dead puts a pause on the ‘Who did Negan Kill?’ tease and lets us see whats going on with Morgan.

Remember in the Season 6 finale, after Morgan finds Carol, they come across two men in body armor riding horses, one with a spear? In the latest trailer we see a lot more armored horse riders and one of them says to who we assume is Morgan, “We’ve been looking for you.”

Well, they take Morgan – we don’t see Carol. What does that mean? – back to their colony/compound/society where he meets a huge dreadlocked presence names King Ezekiel who states, “Welcome to the kingdom.” Oh yeah, King Ezekiel HAS A TIGER! Of course, the armored folks tell Morgan, “No one back home needs to know about this.”

So, will King Ezekiel fall into the category of scary, egomaniacal, horrible leaders like the Governor? Negan? Gregory? (Does Rick fall into that category?) Or will his kingdom tempt Morgan to stay. I’m looking forward to this story line, to be sure.

We also get split second action glimpses at Jesus fighting and Tara running.

As much as I was in the “angry fan” group with that Season 6 finale, I am amped and ready to take more. I’m a sucker for walkers.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead premieres on Sunday, October 23 at 9/8c on AMC.
