Killing Eve truly is the gift that keeps on giving. While there’s no word yet on an official full-length trailer release date, BBC America has been vigilant in keeping us fans sated. A fifth teaser for Season 3 was shared by the show’s Twitter account, and this time it promises a “wild ride” for the upcoming installment.
Now, we see interchanging shots of Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve (Sandra Oh) donning their street clothing. Then, the pair are dressed in sheer crimson gowns and they’re linked arm-in-arm. The words “Oh Hell Yes” along with the April 26th release date flash across the screen. Meanwhile, dramatic, sweeping orchestral music accompanies their movements. The music being used for these teasers has been sublime. It suits Killing Eve‘s grandiose, larger-than-life style.
Alright, let’s recap what we know so far regarding Season 3 – Eve is still alive. How she survives Villanelle’s gunshot is unknown as of yet. According to the new stills released last month, Eve seeks work in a restaurant. Whether she’s undercover for MI6 or a free agent remains to be seen. Not to mention, there’s a seemingly tense interaction between her and Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw) and a shot of husband Niko (Owen McDonnell) in the countryside. In addition, Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) is back in action, no doubt teetering between MI6 and assassin work. We know alliances this season will be tenuous. It’ll be fraught with morally grey characters, conflicting feelings, and a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase. Regardless, I’m tickled pink for next month to arrive. We have more questions than answers, that’s for sure.
Now, do you think Eve will seek vengeance against Villanelle for the events of last season’s finale? Where is Niko, and is he in hiding from Villanelle? What exactly is Eve doing working in a kitchen? We’ll have to wait til April 26th to find out!
Killing Eve returns Sunday April 26th at 10pm on your BBC America affiliate.
