Kid Flash

I always knew Kid Flash was a Legend. Now it’s official. Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Keiynan Lonsdale has joined the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Lonsdale later confirmed the move on Twitter.

The Legends suffered a huge loss after Crisis on Earth-X. After the death of Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Jax (Franz Drameh) decided to leave the group since Firestorm was no more. This left a vacant spot on the team and perfect timing for Kid Flash to join.

Kid Flash, aka Wally West, first appeared on CW’s The Flash in Season 2, after Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) discovered his long lost son. Wally didn’t really have a place on Team Flash until season three. In the season three premiere, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) entered the “Flashpoint” universe where Wally was the Flash, not Barry.  Wally later acquired his speed when Savitar granted him with the gift. Since then, Wally hasn’t really had a chance to show what he can do.

This isn’t the first time the Legends have worked with Wally. In the season three premiere of Legends of Tomorrow, Nate Hathaway (Nick Zano) helped Wally fight crime in Central City. Shortly after, Barry returned from the speed force and Wally saw his opportunity to discover his own journey. The last time we saw Wally was at Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry’s wedding during Crisis on Earth-X.

Wally West will first appear in Legend‘s season three, episode 11 and officially join the team in episode 13. I’m super excited about this! I’ve always felt like The Flash wasn’t doing enough with Wally/Kid Flash. He has so much potential, but there really is only room for one Flash in Central City. Kid Flash is a great addition to the Legends team!

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return to the CW on Monday February 12. Check back with Geek Girl Authority for Arrowverse news.
