Still of Mary Hollis Inboden and Annie Murphy in the Kevin Can F Himself episode "Fixed."

Kevin lives to fight another day. Variety reports dark comedy Kevin Can F Himself has been greenlit for a second season courtesy of AMC! We learned that Season Two will boast eight episodes and will debut on AMC and AMC Plus.

Kevin Can F Himself follows Allison McRoberts (Annie Murphy), an unhappy “sitcom” wife who’s tired of living in her buffoonish husband Kevin’s (Eric Petersen) shadow. She wants to break free of her suffocating, torturous marriage. Thus, Allison decides to kill Kevin along with the aid of her neighbor, Patty (Mary Hollis Inboden), the latter of whom is the town’s drug dealer.

What transpires is an amalgam of Kevin playing out sitcom tropes and Allison’s desperate bids to do away with him for good. Season One ends with Kevin’s best friend and Patty’s brother, Neil (Alex Bonifer), learning about Allison’s failed attempt to murder her husband.

Kevin Can F Himself‘s cinematography switches between a vibrantly colored, multi-cam sitcom-style and dark, single-cam footage.

Dan McDermott, President of Original Programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios, had this to say regarding the show’s renewal:

It’s Kevin’s world, Allison’s just living in it. Or is she? This series was built on a novel and unique concept, and the creative team on both sides of the camera, led by Valerie [Armstrong] and Annie, delivered a highly entertaining first season that really got people talking and rooting for the sitcom wife as never before.

We are excited to see this talented team move from the finale’s cliffhanger and continue Allison’s journey, pushing the bounds of conventional storytelling every step of the way.

Personally, I’m excited to see where the story takes us after Season One’s tense cliffhanger. Will we see the multi-cam format slowly dissipate as Kevin and co. are potentially dragged into the “real world”?

Kevin Can F Himself stars Annie Murphy, Eric Petersen, Mary Hollis Inboden, Alex Bonifer, Raymond Lee and Brian Howe

Season One is currently streaming on AMC Plus, and Season Two will premiere sometime in 2022.
