AMC unveiled the Season 2 official trailer for the Annie Murphy-led dark comedy Kevin Can F**k Himself, which will also serve as the show’s final season. Guess what? It might be a year later, but Kevin can still f**k himself. Judging by the trailer, we’re in for a bold gut-punch of a finale.
If you recall from the Season 1 finale, Allison (Murphy) and Patty’s (Mary Hollis Inboden) plan to kill Allison’s slovenly husband Kevin (Eric Petersen) backfires significantly. Kevin shoots Nick Wyndorff (Robin Lord Taylor), the man the duo hires to perform the hit on Kevin. Kevin’s best friend Neil (Alex Bonifer) overhears their scheming and threatens to disclose what he knows to Kevin.
Next, Patty knocks Neil unconscious after he engages in an almost deadly skirmish with Allison. The trailer pulls back the curtain on what transpires next as Allison researches how to fake her death.

Additionally, we see the return of Patty’s girlfriend, Detective Tammy Ridgeway (Candice Coke), who has no idea about Patty and Allison’s murderous scheme. Sam (Raymond Lee), who Allison has an affair with in Season 1, re-enters the fray. However, in what capacity is unknown since the pair ended things in the finale.
Altogether, this trailer doesn’t boast many “sitcom breaks” from reality. The color palette consists of dark hues with gritty cinematography, illustrating Allison’s emotional spiral and desperation to flee her prison cell of a life.

Overall, I thought Season 1 of Kevin Can F**k Himself posed an intriguing premise. Despite the occasional disjointedness, I was pleased with the outcome. Secondly, Annie Murphy is a tour de force. Her departure from Schitt’s Creek‘s Alexis Rose is as impressive as it is drastic. Who doesn’t love watching a sitcom wife enact revenge against her boorish spouse?
