Late last week, Hulu dropped some exciting news surrounding upcoming projects slated to join the streaming service. One that caught our eye was their upcoming TV series adaptation of the Devil in the White City. This is based on the bestselling novel by Erik Larson. It follows the terrifying Dr. H. H. Holmes and his “Murder Castle” during the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair alongside the architect Daniel H. Burnham who is trying to rush and make his mark on the world.

If you are unfamiliar with the story of H.H. Holmes and the terror he inflicted on the people during the Chicago World’s Fair, we highly suggest checking it out. Of course, that is if true crime/serial killers is something that interests you. If not, maybe just wait until the series releases. This isn’t the first time we have seen an adaptation of Holmes’s story, and most certainly not the last.

What really had us excited about this adaptation of Devil in the White City is that not only will Keanu Reeves be serving as executive producer, but will also be starring. This will be his first debut in a major U.S. TV series, and we could be more excited. We don’t have a concrete answer on who he will be playing, but our bet is on him taking on Holmes. Depending on who else they choose to include in the adaptation may adjust this answer, but with his name being the first released, it only seems plausible he takes on the lead character.

Devil in the White City will be produced by Appian Way, Martin Scorsese, Rick Yorn, Jennifer Davisson and Stacey Sher. This series will be written by Sam Shaw and directed by Todd Field. A tentative release date for the eight-episode series is set for 2024. Are you excited to explore this terrifying story? Let us know in the comments below and on social media.
