Katie Brayben and Keir Charles.

The royal world of Netflix and Shondaland‘s Bridgerton is expanding. Deadline dropped some exclusive casting news this morning, introducing two new members joining the spinoff Bridgerton prequel project. Katie Brayben and Keri Charles will play recurring characters, Vivian Ledger and Lord Ledger. Where they fit into the standing is still up in the air, but we have a feeling they are going to make quite the impact on the story.

The Bridgerton prequel spinoff limited series will take us back years before the current series and introduce us to a younger Queen Charlette, who will be played by India Amarteifio and the older Queen by Golda Rosheuvel. We will watch her rise to power and fall in love with King George (Corey Mylchreest) while navigating the English royal court. We will also get the chance to meet a younger Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmell), and Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh/Arsema Thomas).

We have theorized before that we believe this Bridgerton prequel spinoff will be told with a flashback feel. Queen Charlotte’s story is new to the Netflix series, and fans instantly fell in love with her. She plays a pretty significant role in the lives of the Bridgerton children, and we have seen bits and pieces of her personal life. An entire series dedicated to exploring her is beyond exciting. Plus, getting the chance to see the younger versions of the older generation is something we can’t pass up.

We are still unsure when we will get the chance to enjoy the Bridgerton prequel spinoff, but these little announcements are working to hold us over. WIth Brayben and Charles joining the cast, we will hopefully start to see more names pop up. If you haven’t had the chance to enjoy the Bridgerton phenomenon, now is a great time! What role do you think Lord Ledger and Vivian Ledger will play in the series? Friend and frenemy? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
