Still of William Zabka and Ralph Macchio in Netflix's Cobra Kai.

Thirty four years after Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) beat Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and put Cobra Kai in its place, they’re back.  Youtube TV released a teaser for their The Karate Kid sequel series, Cobra Kai on Thursday. And, according to Daniel, “We aren’t done.”

The 10-episode series is set thirty years after the original movie, and it’s being billed as a half-hour comedy. This, I am excited about. Yes, yes, yes. The series picks up on the lives of Daniel and Johnny as grown men, and as The Hollywood Reporter reports, they are “addressing demons from their past and present frustrations.”

Daniel is successful, but searching for balance without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita). Johnny is apparently not doing as well, and begins a campaign to reclaim his glory days by reopening the Cobra Kai dojo. Hilarity and karate ensue.

The teaser doesn’t give us a ton of information, but it does give a fair amount of context. Some things never change. Johnny wants to smash, and Daniel is on a more spiritual journey. We can guess that they’ll both have students of their own in this series. Let’s see who’ll put him in a body bag this time!

Karate Kid’s Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso aren’t the same people they were in high school— but their rivalry hasn’t changed one bit. The Karate Kid saga continues.

There is no premiere date for Cobra Kai. It will be available for subscribers to Youtube Red.
