Last week we got the first trailer for Netflix‘s Jupiter’s Legacy and this week, we were gifted our first set of images. The series is based on a series of graphic novels by Mark Millar and Frank Quitley that navigate the complex dynamics and family, power and loyalty. The images shared help show how Netflix was able to bring Millar and Quitley’s story from the pages to the screen.

Jupiter’s Legacy follows the first generation of superheroes as they prepare to pass their legacies onto their children. This isn’t easy for the children as they are hungry to prove their power and self-worth while living up to their parents’ legacies. Will they be able to fill the shoes left behind by their parents, or will they spend their entire superhero careers falling short in the eyes of the world? The first trailer really nailed down the idea that the torch’s passing is just as hard on the children as it is on the adults.
The idea of trying to live up to someone’s expectations can lead to quite a lot of stress on one’s shoulders. Now just imagine that the world’s safety is on your shoulders too. Doing everything in your power to protect them from villains knowing that you are laying your life on the line. I’d rather retake my Master’s degree program and deal with the stress of deadlines than superpowers.
The Jupiter’s Legacy images show us how Netflix has brought a hand full of characters to life, including Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson, Tyler Mane as Blackstar, Leslie Bibb as Grace Sampson, Josh Duhamel as Sheldon Sampson, Ben Daniels as Walter Sampson, Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson and Ian Quinlan as Hutch. We have a mix of superhero poses, action and even out of costume shots that emphasize that this isn’t just a story about superheroes but the people within the suits.
