These stories have had us captivated chapter after chapter each week, and we couldn’t pass up sharing them with you! Jupiter-Men
This week, it’s all about superhero stories. Our first pick is Actionkiddy‘s Jupiter-Men. If local legend is to be believed, Jupiter-City has a hero: a mysterious figure cloaked in a cape made of stars who defends the helpless, fights crime and is now a missing person. Hero or no hero, crime doesn’t take a break, and now it’s up to twins Quintin and Jackie to take over for the hero missing in action. Can they survive long enough to find the hero, or will they fall under the pressure of being Jupiter-City’s new heroes?
We love a superhero WEBTOON series that throws two unconventional heroes into the line of action. Jupiter-Men’s twins, Quintin and Jackie, are incredible leads to follow as they navigate what it means to be a hero. The action scenes in the series are top-notch as well. The art and story flow beautifully in the WEBTOON format. Watching everything play out with the beautiful colors and attention to detail takes this entire series to a whole new level.

Backchannel
Our second WEBTOON series this week is Backchannel. The series is one of the final projects written by the legendary Stan Lee and brought to visual life by Tom Akel. It follows the average high school student, Tom Tanner, as he struggles with hiding his affection for his friend Sally, keeping his grades up and head down. However, Tom has quite a big secret to hide, especially from his father, an LA police detective. Can Tom keep his secret identity as an engineering prodigy and member of BACKCHANNEL a secret forever? Or will the havoc he is causing in prisons across the US catch up to him?
Let’s be honest – we will always read something with the great Stan Lee’s name attached to it. Backchannel is filled with stories and themes that we have come to find within Lee’s work. Akel’s artstyle gives life to Tom and the other characters. And the incredible digital art that can be seen in chapter one and whenever the digital world comes into play is incredible. The mix of comic art and WEBTOON style makes this a great series to bridge the gap for readers who are not quite ready to make the jump.
