Take a Journey to the Land of the Dead with This Brand New COCO Trailer

Erin Lynch

This film looks absolutely magical. Disney/Pixar just released a new trailer for Coco and it’s magnificent. We get to hear a little more about the story and see just what kind of trouble our protagonist will get into.

The story follows Miguel, a young aspiring musician. He wants to be just like his idol, even going so far as to touching the guitar by his idol’s grave. Unfortunately for him, this sends him, and his dog Dante, to the land of the dead. The world is absolutely vibrant, with after-life flowing everywhere. The dead even use trains to get around their vast world. And the colors! Such beautiful use of colors.

The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday to celebrate, pray and remember family and friends who have passed on. It seems to be one of the focal points of the film. This will be Disney/Pixar’s first Hispanic focused film. We can only hope it does the culture justice! And being honest, the Calaca designs for the relatives look fantastic. I’m so looking forward to this movie.
