This is the year of Joseph Quinn, and we dare anyone to tell us otherwise. The Stranger Things breakout star took us by storm with his portrayal of Eddie Munson during season four and has lived rent-free in our heads ever since. And now, he is making his way to the big screen. Deadline dropped exclusive news that Quinn was in talks to star in a leading role opposite Lupita Nyong’o in Paramount’s A Quiet Place: Day One.

This serves as a spin-off to John Krasinski’s first two films, A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place 2, instead of a threequel. Michael Sarnoski is stepping into Krasinki’s shoes as director and writer of A Quiet Place: Day One. The studio hopes this will help set up a universe that will allow them to expand with more movies and maybe even shows in the years to come. And hopefully, Quinn’s character will also have a home in this universe for years to come.

Information on A Quiet Place: Day One is sparse outside of Nyong’o’s casting and Quinn’s potential casting. It has been said that Emily Blunt and Krasinski will likely not reprise their role in the film. However, Krasinski is currently working on the third film for the original franchise, which will be released sometime in 2025. We are excited to see how they will tie the spin-off to the original franchise and if the third film will tie into the spin-off.

But, above all, we are excited about Quinn. Who wouldn’t be? A Quiet Place: Day One is set to hit theaters on March 8, 2024. What do you think about the casting? How do you think they will expand the universe? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
