Not a big surprise here but still fun to know! Director and writer Rian Johnson was in Japan today doing press for his latest film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. While he was able to share a few things we already know with the Japanese fans, he also confirmed a cameo.
With thanks to SWNN, we now know that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will make an appearance in The Last Jedi. Not a typical cameo, however. According to Johnson, he’ll be voicing an alien. There’s no indication if his role will be larger like Simon Pegg or small like Daniel Craig, but it’s exciting to learn that we already have a confirmed cameo to look forward to!

It’s no surprise that Gordon-Levitt has a role, though. The actor has worked with Johnson on all three of his other major films, starring in two of them. So needless to say, they work well together. In speaking of cameos, there’s been a rumor floating around that Tom Hardy will also have a role in the film, but we’ll have to wait and see about that!
What do you think of the news? Who else would you like to see cameo in Episode 8? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more Star Wars news. The Last Jedi will be in theaters December 15th.
