Jordan Peele is making his producing mark all over TV and film, and he’s just getting started. It was announced Thursday that Peele is bringing a nazi-hunter drama series to Amazon. It’s called The Hunt, and we are already fascinated.
The Hunt is not the WWII Nazi story you may have come to expect. It takes the fight across the pond, and to a new generation. According to Deadline, “The Hunt follows a diverse band of Nazi Hunters living in 1977 New York City. The Hunters, as they’re known, have discovered that hundreds of high ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.”
The making of Get Out made fans acutely aware of Peele’s love of genre. And according to him, this is right up his alley. He said of the series, “It’s cathartic. It’s noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television.”
The series will be written by creator David Weil, based on an original idea and inspired by true events. The Hunt will have a 10-episode first season. We’re really looking forward to this one. Stay tuned for updates.
