Jonathan Majors is making his mark. The actor has been tapped for a massive role in the next Ant-Man film opposite Paul Rudd and Evangeline LilyDeadline reports. Majors currently stars in HBO hit Lovecraft Country.

While the role Majors is slated to play has yet to be identified, sources purportedly say he’s likely to portray the villainous Kang the Conqueror. In the comics, Kang is a time-traveling entity who dukes it out with Thor, Spider-Man, and the entire Avengers team.

Of course, this is merely an assumption. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one rife with twists and turns. Majors could ultimately play a character that surprises us all.

Director Peyton Reed is back at the helm for the next Ant-Man flick while Jeff Loveness will pen the script. As per his usual, Marvel giant (and head of Marvel Studios) Kevin Feige will produce.

Now, Majors’ star is on the rise, especially with his role in Lovecraft Country, which debuted this summer. Additionally, Majors starred in Spike Lee‘s Da 5 Bloods, an epic war drama wherein the actor played an Army unit son returning to Vietnam for gold and a fallen squad leader. Majors can next be seen in Netflix’s The Harder They Fall

Majors is an immensely gifted performer, and I’ve no doubt his contribution to the MCU will be a vital one. I say: bring it on.
