DC’s Legends of Tomorrow have had their hands full with the Darhks this season.  It looks like they will be getting a little help from their friends when Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech) returns in the season three finale.  Also making an appearance is Legends alum Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh).

In the Arrowverse, Jonah Hex is a good friend of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill).  He has appeared in each season of Legends of Tomorrow and briefly in the speed force in the second season of The Flash

This will the first time that Jax has returned to the team since the death of his Firestorm partner, Martin Stein (Victor Garber).  Stein died during the Crisis on Earth-X crossover, leaving Jax with no powers.  Jax returned to 2017 to live his life.

Season three has been kind of a roller coaster.  The Legends were benched by Hunter and the Time Bureau. They worked their way back into the bureau’s good graces, only to lose Firestorm.  Since then they have been dealing the Darhks.  Nora Darhk (Courtney Ford) used a demonic spell to resurrect Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), revealing that she is possessed by a demon named Mallus.  Arrowverse friend and occult detective John Constantine (Matt Ryan) has been helping the team with their demon problem. And the team acquired new members Zari Tomaz (Tala Ashe) and Kid Flash/Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale).

The Legends and the Darhks have been searching for the Totems of Zambezi. There are six, Air, Spirit, Water, Fire, Earth and Death.  Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) is a totem bearer, but Darhk was able to take Amaya’s Spirit totem from her.  Amaya’s granddaughter and Darhk conspirator Kuasa (Tracy Ifeachor) has the Water totem.  And Zari possesses the Air totem.  The Legends acquired the Earth totem, stole the Fire totem from Darhk, and most recently found the Death totem.  If the Legends can get back the Spirit totem and convince Kuasa to join them, they can destroy Mallus once and for all.  However, Mallus has his eyes on Legends leader Sara Lance (Caity Lotz). Sara has the darkest soul and Mallus is determined to possess her.

The season three finale is titled “The Good, The Bad, and the Cuddly,” and will take place in the old West. That’s where Rip Hunter will call on his old friend Jonah Hex for help. And somewhere in the mix, we will also see the return of the “Cuddly” Beebo. (Beebo is a talking toy that was once worshipped as a Norse god, and was melted by the Trickster on The Flash.) With all of these Legends and their friends…and Beebo, Mallus and the Darhks don’t stand a chance.  Here is the finale synopsis:

The Legends plan to vanquish Mallus by using the totems doesn’t go as planned, forcing Rip to improvise. The team finds itself regrouping in the Wild West where they run into their old pal Jonah Hex. Sara leaves Ray (Brandon Routh) in charge of watching Damien Darhk, while she comes up with a new plan. Meanwhile, Amaya is determined to find a way to use the totems to destroy Mallus.
