Tom Cruise is getting some company. The Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick has added some high-profile new cast members. Jon Hamm, Ed Harris and Lewis Pullman (son of Bill Pullman) are joining an increasingly star-studded cast.
Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller have already signed on to the sequel. And, though the plot of the film is being kept mostly under wraps, we do know a few things. Cruise is, obviously, playing Pete (Maverick) Mitchell, who is taking on an instructor role in the sequel. According to Deadline, Maverick is tasked with training his former partner, Goose’s, son (Teller). You can bet Kilmer will be coming at you with some Ice Man, but we just don’t know exactly what Maverick has in store for Hamm, Harris and Pullman… or the rest of the Maverick crew.
So, here are some predictions, or you could call it a wish list for Top Gun: Maverick. We think we’ll be seeing some intense locker room confrontation, dangerous flying, forbidden love, heartbreak, success, failure, tower buzzing, bar-singing and volleyball. If they can get all of those things from the original into the sequel, it might just measure up. Remember boys, no points for second place.
