There is so much about John Mulaney to love – Too Much Tuna, Spider-Ham, Kid Gorgeous, Stefan and most recently John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch. If you haven’t seen the latter special on Netflix then stop reading this middling article and do something good in your life – Watch John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch! It’s the hands down one of the best variety shows ever created. I hadn’t laughed that hard in ages and it was filled with joy that I didn’t know I needed. So good.
Now, John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch has many, many cameos which are jaw-dropping and I won’t spoil them. Except for one. David Byrne. The musical mastermind appears in the variety show and sings in a segment called “Pay Attention!” It’s very fun and Byrne wears a giant blazer. Why am I bringing all this up? Because former SNL writer John Mulaney will be hosting Saturday Night Live with musical guest David Byrne!
