Fresh off of his stint as Takeshi Kovacs in Altered Carbon, Joel Kinnaman is sticking with sci-fi.  He is set to star in Ronald D. Moore’s upcoming space drama for Apple TV.  The announcement came via Deadline, Tuesday, and he’ll have company.

Michael Dorman (Patriot) and Sarah Jones (Damnation) will co-star with Kinnaman in the series, created and written by Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi.  The show is yet to be titled, and we don’t know much, except creators are exploring a world where the global space race never ended.  Kinnaman will play NASA astronaut Edward Baldwin.  Dorman and Jones will play one of the “prominent NASA couples”.

We’re excited for this one.  Moore is sci-fi royalty and he hasn’t come out with his own show since bringing the world another genre favorite, Outlander.  And, since the recent news that Kinnaman will not be starring in the second season of Altered Carbon, it seems he free to do a lot of good work with Moore and company.
