IGN caught up with Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, at the premiere for Jessica Jones and they had a very enlightening conversation with him regarding Punisher and Iron Fist, saying that Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of The Punisher is dead on and how Marvel and Netflix are coming along with Iron Fist.

First, let’s talk Punisher. He’s seen the scripts, he’s seen footage of Bernthal in action, and when he was asked if there could be a possible Punisher series to spin out of the second season of Daredevil, he said, “I think we’d love to see something happen, but it’s way too soon to tell, and we don’t necessarily like to discuss which metrics we use to decide these things.”

So they’re thinking about it, is the take away. They’re open to it, but not convinced it’s fully profitable just yet. But it sounds like it could be a good bet because Quesada also said, “But what I can tell you is anyone who is a hardcore Punisher fan is going to be blown away and incredibly satisfied by Bernthal’s take on Frank Castle. It’s one of those cases where it’s the character from the pages come to life.”

The interviewer also asked him about Iron Fist’s progress and the troubles that the series is currently rumored to be experiencing. He didn’t have much to say about it, only “Iron Fist is being worked on. That’s all that I can say.”

He then went on to make fun of rumors on the internet and how they typically turn out to be false. That said, it appears that Quesada is suggesting we all just cool our jets and eagerly await an Iron Fist Netflix series.
