We already know Deadpool 3 will play fast and loose with the multiversal continuity. However, early estimates of how loose seem to have been understated. On Friday, July 7, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter revealed Jennifer Garner will reprise the role of Elektra Natchios role for the threequel.
Elektra Hearts Can’t Be Broken
Garner first played the role of Elektra in 2003’s Daredevil. The movie also featured Ben Affleck as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. Garner reprised the role for the 2005 spinoff Elektra. While Affleck returned as Murdock for Elektra, his scene was cut from the movie’s final version. Although a sequel to Daredevil was long-rumored, it never came to pass.

20th Century Fox distributed both Daredevil and Elektra. This was also true of Deadpool, Deadpool 2 and the X-Men movies featuring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, a role he will reprise for Deadpool 3. Although none of these movies were initially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool 3 seems to pull from multiple continuities.
The threequel will star Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson). Plus, it will see the return of most of the cast from the first two Deadpool movies. This includes Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Stefan Kapicic as (Colossus), Rob Delaney (Peter). Deadpool 3 will also introduce Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen in undisclosed roles.

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 from a script he wrote with Reynolds, Paul Wernick and Zeb Wells. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin wrote the first draft of the script.
