Thor: Ragnarok is about to get a home release, and with it will come some extended and deleted scenes from the film. We get a first look at one of those scenes, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and it’s hilarious. It involves the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) making out with tentacles, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) one-upping Bruce (Mark Ruffalo) on family tragedy, and a literal noodle bug.
This scene is so funny and weird. It picks up after Thor, Bruce, and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) take the Grandmaster’s orgy ship. Thor is nosing around at a hologram projection on the ship and finding some, shall we say, compromising recordings of the Grandmaster. To be fair, it is an orgy ship. He lands on one particular projection of some awkwardly hilarious tentacle fun that Thor and Bruce both uncomfortably watch before turning it off.

The best thing about the scene, though, is the conversation that Thor and Bruce have. Bruce takes Thor to task when he brings up how he missed the death of his father due to all of these super hero shenanigans. Thor very matter-of-factly shuts him down with such a hilariously detached tale of woe that it makes Bruce think twice about his own selfishness. That conversation leads to Thor’s uncertainty about whether he could ever defeat his sister and the best line of the scene: “You’re Thor! You can kill your sister!”
What follows is a delightful disney reference pep talk, a bowl of noodles that turns out to be alien insect parts, and Valkyrie being simultaneously awesome and super gross. It’s totally worth looking at if you need some giggles in your day.
Thor: Ragnarok will get its home release February 20th, and hard copy DVD/Blu-Ray release on March 6th.
