Jame Gunn took to social media today to reveal the cast for the next installment of The Suicide Squad and it’s, honestly, quite breathtaking. The line-up is full of stars and fan favorites.
There are 24 names in this reveal. Some names we were expecting to return for the next installment. Viola Davis is returning to play Amanda Waller, Margo Robbie is returning as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney is returning as Captain Boomerang and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. We also knew that David Dastmalchian will be playing the Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior is Ratcatcher, and Steve Agee is King Shark. We knew Will Smith wouldn’t be returning and Jared Leto’s name isn’t on this list, so yay for that.
The rest are in undisclosed roles, although most of the names have been floating around The Suicide Squad aether for a while now such as John Cena, Peter Capaldi, Idris Elba, Flula Borg, Nathan Fillion and Taika Waititi. Rounding out the rest of the announcement are Joaquin Cosio, Mayling Ng, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, Tinashe Kajese, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland and fan favorite, Michael Rooker.
Gunn also captioned the reveal with: “Don’t get too attached.” Obviously meaning that there will be a high body count for the film. So if you were excited that Malcolm Reynolds and Doctor Who are in the same cast together, you may want to prepare yourself for their gruesome end.
