It is with sad hearts that we share the news of the passing of Sean Connery. His family shared he passed away overnight in his sleep in the Bahamas at the age of 90. Connery is survived by his wife Micheline Roquebrune, Jason Connery and a grandson.
Connery has a prolific acting career that spanned decades, but he is best known for his role as James Bond. He first appeared as the British spy in Dr No in 1962. He continued portraying him through four more films including From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, and You Only Live Twice.

After his time spent as James Bond, Connery went on to star in multiple other films including The Man Who Would Be King, Time Bandits, Highlander and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade to name a few. Connery won his first and only Oscar for his role as Jimmy Malone in The Untouchables. Connery retired from acting after the release of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
In 2000, Sean Connery was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in a ceremony that took place at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. He was honored with a knighthood for his international fame as James Bond. He, however, did not let his knighthood stop him from continuing to advocate strongly for Scotlands independence.
GGA’s love and prayers are with his family as they go through this incredible loss.
