Interview with the Vampire fans, we’ve got our Louis! Deadline reports that Game of Thrones alum Jacob Anderson has been tapped to star opposite Sam Reid in AMC’s television adaptation of the mega-popular Anne Rice novel. Reid will portray Lestat. The show’s first season will boast eight episodes and is scheduled to begin production later this year.
Now, Rice published Interview with the Vampire in 1976 as part of her The Vampire Chronicles series. Other notable books in the said series include Queen of the Damned, The Vampire Lestat and The Vampire Armand. As of today, 14 novels constitute The Vampire Chronicles.
In June of last year, AMC acquired filming rights to 18 of Rice’s works after greenlighting the series. The plan is to produce a sprawling TV franchise.
Interview with the Vampire was adapted for the big screen in 1994 with Tom Cruise as Lestat and Brad Pitt as Louis.

Anderson is known for his role as Grey Worm in Game of Thrones and his recurring spots on Episodes and Broadchurch. He can next be seen in the upcoming season of Doctor Who as Vinder.
In addition, Anderson is a well-established musician who performs under the alias Raliegh Ritchie. He released his debut album, You’re a Man Now, Boy, in 2016 to critical success. It’s described as a “soul and trip-hop” album. His sophomore outing arrived in 2020 and was entitled Andy.
Personally, I’m so excited that AMC is breathing new (undead) life into this series. Anderson is a fantastic performer and will undoubtedly make a great Louis. Bring it on, I say!
Interview with the Vampire is slated to premiere in 2022 on AMC.
