This is exciting. J. Michael Straczynski will be writing the television adaptation of Kim Stanley Robinson’s famous and award-winning science fiction trilogy: Red Mars, Green Mars and Blue Mars. The series will be called Red Mars and Robinson will be consulting. Spike TV is developing the project.
The prolific Straczynski’s most recent projects have been co-writing Thor, World War Z and the upcoming Netflix series, Sense8. But, to us nerds, we hail Straczynski as the creator and writer of the science fiction series Babylon 5. (btw, you should check out his IMDB resume, did you know he wrote for He-Man and She-Ra?)
If you are not familiar with Robinson’s Mars Trilogy, it chronicles the settlement and terraforming of the planet Mars through the intensely personal and detailed viewpoints of a wide variety of characters spanning almost two centuries.
Yay for Science Fiction!!!
