Welcome to this week’s installment of F2P Friday, where we highlight our favorite Free-2-Play games. The video game market is oversaturated, and sometimes, hidden gems fall through the cracks. This is where we dig for you and feature a new F2P game we know you will enjoy every week. Let’s dive in.

It Paints Me

Every night, you awaken in your studio and paint your masterpiece… or, at least, try to. Oh, if only your muse would return. If only lifting your brush didn’t fill your fingertips with agony.

The Basics

Let’s get down to the basics. It Paints Me is a visual novel developed by ENDYSIS that puts you behind the easel of haunted, love-struck artist Sam. The story progresses through the action choices mostly rather than dialogue. The game retains a conversational tone, especially with the voice-acted portions mixed into the gameplay.

Three unique endings can be played through in around 20-30 minutes. It Paints Me‘s short playtime makes it an impactful, compact experience that can be played between longer campaigns. It can also be played inside your browser, which is a plus.

Why Should I Play?

Why should you play It Paints Me? If you are a psychological horror fan or need light gore in your scary games, this game is a great midground. The hand-drawn art style and music blend well with the haunted tones of the voice actors to set a suspenseful scene. Usually, the dialog makes or breaks a visual novel for me, but the gothic manor setting drew me into the game. The character models are unique, the voice acting is above average and the music is perfectly suited for setting the horror tone without being grating.

Are you brave enough to dip your brush? You can download or play It Paints Me for free in the browser on Itch.io here!
