When Gal Gadot made her first silver screen appearance in Fast & Furious in 2009, few people had heard of her. Now, the Israeli actress is one of the most popular stars in Hollywood and is best known for playing the role of Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe. At 35 years old, the 2004 Miss Israel winner has a long career ahead of her. She could soon be regarded as one of the biggest actresses of all time, alongside the likes of Julia Roberts, Sigourney Weaver, and Elizabeth Taylor.

Wonder Woman Skyrocketed Gadot to Success

Prior to taking on the role of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot had only appeared in six other Hollywood films. Four of these were in the Fast & Furious franchise, and the others were minor parts in Date Night and Knight and Day. Now, she is one of the highest-paid actresses in the industry, having placed twice on the annual rankings.

Gadot looks set to hold the role of Wonder Woman for some time, as the DC Extended Universe expands over the next decade. As of 2021, she has already starred in four films in the franchise. It is likely that there will be future Wonder Woman sequels and spinoffs, along with more ensemble offerings. Impressively, due to the stellar job she did with the role, Gadot was also named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2018 and is a role model for young women.

Taking on Cleopatra Role Next

There are rumours that Gadot will soon be taking on the role of one of the most iconic characters in history, Cleopatra. Despite having lived more than 2 millennia ago, the ancient Egyptian ruler is a popular theme in mainstream culture. For example, in addition to being an extremely popular fancy-dress costume, the subject of themed rides and even a few songs, Cleopatra has appeared in a vast number of games. She has been ever-present in the Civilization series and can be selected as the player’s representative character. The ancient ruler has also been in Assassin’s Creed Origins, History Racers 2, Asterix & Friends, and Battle Ages.

Another example of the Egyptian queen’s enduring influence on gaming culture is the Cleopatra slot game from IGT, which is one of the favourite free slots among online casino players. This isn’t the only game that features this historic icon, as Cleopatra Jewels and Beauty of Cleopatra are also available in addition to over 20 more that centre around her. What is clearly demonstrated here is that, as one of the most famous icons from ancient Egypt, she is a well-loved reference point for the time period in popular culture.

If Gadot takes on the role of Cleopatra she will be following on from one of the most legendary actresses in history. Taylor was one of the revered stars of classical Hollywood cinema in the 1950s, and when she took on the role of Cleopatra in 1963 it made her more famous than ever before. Gadot may be hoping that when she takes on the role, it will have the same effect on her career.

Is Gadot The Most Sought-After Actress in Hollywood?

The fact that Gadot appears to be a shoo-in for the role of Cleopatra suggests that she is the most sought-after actress in Hollywood right now. This is because the original Joseph L. Mankiewicz film is one of the most famous pictures of all time, and a remake will be a high budget affair that will hope to outdo its predecessor.

Gadot is also scheduled to star in two more films this year. One is Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, set to be released in September. The other is Red Notice, an action-comedy thriller that will also feature Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds.

The signs suggest that Gadot has what it takes to become the biggest female star in Hollywood. It could be argued that she has already achieved this status, but playing Cleopatra should serve to boost her career further.
