Marvel released a video this morning announcing the release date for their next outing with Netflix, Iron Fist. The video itself is very simple as it’s just an announcement about when the series will premiere — a save the date, if you will. It features an ornate incense burner with smoke rising from it to eventually take shape as the Iron Fist dragon emblazoned on Danny Rand’s (Finn Jones) chest after he defeats the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying.
It then gives the date of it’s released — 3/17/17. March 17, 2017.
Six months away, which is typically how Netflix spaces out their Marvel shows. With Luke Cage just having hit the streaming service, it makes total sense that a March release date is what they decided on.
Along with the video, Marvel also released an image of Danny Rand putting the beat down on the last standing goon in a room full of unconscious goons. It’s a scene straight out of a comic book and looks so perfectly Iron Fist. Pictures like this make you excited to see the first half of that scene where he kung-fu’ed his way through a room of thugs.
This isn’t the first promotional material we’ve seen for Iron Fist. If you remember, at San Diego Comic Con we also saw a quick little teaser trailer featuring a young Danny Rand in a plane crash and then an older Danny Rand blowing up a wall — with his fists…
