The Bloober Team is back to bring us another interactive horror titled The Medium. The world premiere trailer was released during the Inside Xbox show today. The Bloober Team is known for creating cinematic horror games that are extremely immersive in both gameplay and the storyline. From the trailer and short chat with game producer Jacek Zieba. From what we have seen it already looks like The Medium will live up to the legacy of other Bloober titles.

The Medium puts the player in control of a medium living in 1980s Poland. She has the ability to traverse between the world of the living and the world of spirits. The game focuses on the idea that she will be able to truly see the intentions of the people around her. One vision however continues to haunt her, the vision of a child’s murder. She uses her abilities to track down a source of this vision to an abandoned hotel. It will be the player’s job to navigate her through the hotel and unlock the clues behind this tragic event.

The worlds that Bloober Team is able to create in their titles are beyond immersive, making players feel like they are apart of the world. In The Medium we are going to be able to experience two worlds in one. Zieba shared that thanks to the strength of horsepower for the upcoming Xbox Series X they were finally able to bring this world to life. Horror games require a level of immersion that always waivers when the player finds themselves stuck in a loading screen. In The Medium gameplay will be seamless. The player will be able to navigate between both worlds and even levels without loading screens or frame rate drops.

To help create the new dark world of The Medium, the Bloober Team collaborated on the game’s soundtrack. Arkadiusz Reikowski is working alongside legendary composer Akira Yamaoka. Yamaoka is most known for his work on Silent Hill. The two coming together to work on a project is a dream for fans of the horror franchise. We can’t wait to see what the Bloober Team has up their sleeve with The Medium releases.

The Medium is set to release holiday 2020 for the PC through Steam and the Xbox Series X. Check out the world premiere trailer and the interview with Zieba below. Let us know in the comments and on social media if The Medium is right up your alley!
