During the Inside Xbox show yesterday we got a glimpse at the upcoming action role-playing game The Ascent. The game was developed by Neon Giant and published by Curve Digital. The trailer shows off the futuristic dystopian world players will dive into. It gives us major sci-fi cyber feels. The game follows the fall of the mega-corporation that owned everyone, including you. Players will need to learn if they will be able to survive without them or fall under the control of another corrupt group.

In The Ascent players will be able to create and customize their own character with cyber wear and augmentations. It is built on classic role-playing game mechanics with a dystopian feel. A new mechanic though comes in the form of double-aim which will allow players to utilize the full screen and choose between multiple targets anywhere in the zone. The narrative-led adventure features both single-player and co-op up to four players. From the trailer, we get to see how these different elements will come together into some pretty epic gameplay.

The Ascent will release on the in 2020 on PC through Steam and the Xbox Series X.

Coming 2020 and launching on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC, The Ascent will offer players the chance to step into an action-orientated sci-fi RPG, powered by Unreal Engine 4, that takes the genre to new levels, available to play in both single-player and up to four-player co-op.

The survival of your district is threatened: rival corporations are trying to force appropriation and crime syndicates are looking to boost their black-market augmentation trade. You must take up arms to stop them from seizing control and embark on a new mission to find out what started it all.
