The first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan‘s new Apple TV+ series, Servant was a bit unnerving for some viewers.

The story in Servant, is one of grief. The series follows a Philadelphia couple in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home.
The tragedy is losing a child. The mysterious force to enter their home, we think, is the nanny. The couple replaces their infant with a life-like doll. This is a real thing where some parents who have endured tragedy or women who couldn’t have children turn to these dolls.
In the first trailer, it gets disturbing fast as you realize there is a mystery afoot. The nanny seems to be bonding with the doll and the father doesn’t seem to be okay with doll at all. At one point in the trailer, a man’s voice says “what if she remembers?” Does this refer to the wife or the nanny?
Now in this teaser, we see an artist creating the doll and all the effort and artistry that goes into the creation. We then see the mother pick up the baby with adoration and a mother’s true love. Take a look.

Servant stars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free, and Rupert Grint. It’s 10-episode first season will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 28.
