Amazon’s hit thriller series Hunters was granted a Season Two, as reported by Deadline. The conspiracy drama was cultivated from the mind of David Weil and executive produced by Jordan Peele. Weil had this to say regarding the greenlit second season:
I am beyond grateful to Jen and the Amazon family for their continued extraordinary support of Hunters. Alongside our magnificent cast, incredible crew, and brilliant writers and producers, I am more eager than ever to share the next chapter of the Hunters saga with the world.
Now, Hunters follows a group of Nazi hunters in 1977 New York City. The Hunters have pulled back the veil on a slew of high-ranking Nazi officials who are conspiring to bring the Fourth Reich to fruition. Weil was inspired to create the show by his grandmother, the latter of whom survived the Holocaust. Recently, at Deadline’s Contender TV event in June, Weil regaled the audience with a tale of how his grandmother persisted during history’s most horrifying genocide. As a comic buff, he would view her as a superhero through that particular lens. Thus, Hunters was born.
Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, praised Weil for his emboldened vision:
David Weil’s bold vision and fearless imagination powered a thrilling, twisty, action-packed first season that engaged Prime Video customers around the world. We are thrilled that David, Jordan, and the Hunters will be back with us for more.
I’m game for more Hunters! Firstly, it stars the legendary Al Pacino. You can never go wrong with a smattering of Pacino in my eyes. Secondly, I’ve always harbored an avid interest in World War II, as well as the rise and purported fall of Nazism. This show boasts a phenomenal cast and is propped up by equally phenomenal writing. It’s a world that’s as engrossing as it is action-packed.
Hunters stars Al Pacino, Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Carol Kane, Greg Austin, Dylan Baker, Lena Olin, Kate Mulvany, Louis Ozawa, Tiffany Boone and Saul Rubinek. Season One is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime.
