The hunt is officially on with the brand new trailer for Hulu’s next installment of the Predator franchise. Prey comes to us from director Dan Trachtenberg known for his work on The Boys and 10 Cloverfield Lane. It takes us back 300 years to the Comanche Nation, where a young woman named Naru (Amber Midthunder) must learn to survive against one of the universe’s most terrifying hunters ever – the Predator.

We got our first glimpse of Prey through a teaser, but the full trailer dives more into the story and shows off the action. Naru was raised in the shadows of some of the most legendary hunters to roam the Great Plains. She does everything in her power to emulate their abilities and make a name for herself. In the trailer, we see her hunting alongside her dog and attempting to take on a bear by herself.

That is until the bear is taken out by something more sinister. Now Naru must do everything she can to protect her people and home from this hunter. The new trailer for Prey gives us our first honest look at the Predator, and folks – brace yourself – it’s incredible. He still looks terrifying but dated in a way. He clearly doesn’t have the same technology that our present-day Predator would sport, but still far superior to what Naru has available to her. Even still, Naru is a badass all on her own, and we can’t wait to see her show off those skills.

Alongside Midthunder, Prey stars Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush and Julian Black Antelope. Dane DiLiegro will be dawning the helm as Predator. The film will also be available on Hulu entirely in Comanche as a language option and as subtitles.

Prey hits Hulu on August 5, 2022. Check out the new trailer and poster below. What are your thoughts so far? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
