HOUSE OF THE DRAGON: Tommy Flanagan and More Join Season 3 Cast

Highlights

  • Tommy Flanagan has joined the House of the Dragon Season 3 cast in a critical role. 
  • Flanagn will portray Ser Roderick Dustin, aka Roddy the Ruin, the Lord of Barrowton and head of House Dustin, who sides with Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons. 
  • Additionally, Dan Fogler boards Season 3 as Ser Torrhen Manderly, a knight from House Manderly during the Dance. House Manderly also pledges their loyalty to Rhaenyra. 

House of the Dragon Season 3

Team Black has two new key players on its side. House of the Dragon Season 3 sees Tommy Flanagan and Dan Fogler join the fray as Ser Roderick Dustin and Ser Torrhen Manderly, respectively. Additionally, we learned that the eight-episode third season is currently in production. 

Flanagan’s Dustin also goes by his more famous moniker, Roddy the Ruin. Dustin is the Lord of Barrowton and the head of House Dustin. He swears fealty to Rhaenyra Targaryen and leads a host of 2,000 Northerners known as the Winter Wolves.

Fogler’s Manderly is the second son of Lord Desmond Manderly and a knight during the Dance of the Dragons. He and his brother, Ser Medrick, venture south to aid Rhaenyra. He’s also a devout follower of the Faith of the Seven. 

Tommy Flanagan and Dan Fogler 

Flanagan is known for his role as Filip “Chibs” Telford on Sons of Anarchy, which ran from 2008 to 2014. His other credits include STARZ’s Power Book IV: Force, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gladiator and Braveheart. Flanagan recently appeared in Netflix’s The Perfect Couple as Broderick Graham and MobLand as Moody. 

Fogler played Jacob Kowalski in the Fantastic Beasts trilogy, a Harry Potter prequel series. He also had a recurring role on The Walking Dead as Luke. His other credits include The Passage, The Offer and Fanboys. Fogler recently appeared as Albert Grossman in A Complete Unknown.

The Cast 

The returning cast for House of the Dragon Season 3 is as follows: Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin and Abubakar Salim. 

James Norton was recently announced as a Season 3 cast addition. Norton will play Ormund Hightower, Otto’s nephew and the Lord of Oldtown. Hightower is, obviously, Team Green, supporting Aegon Targaryen.
