Blumhouse Productions’ The Town That Dreaded Sundown is a remake, kinda, not really. Well, the original The Town That Dreaded Sundown was a B Movie slasher pic where a town is terrorized by a crazed killer. 2014’s The Town That Dreaded Sundown takes place in the same town, Texarkana, but decades after the original murders. The film was produced by Ryan Murphy of creepy American Horror Story (and Glee) fame and Jason Blum. It is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon and written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The Town that Dreaded Sundown is set for an October release.

Based on a terrifying true story, The Town That Dreaded Sundown picks up sixty-five years after a masked serial killer terrorized the small town of Texarkana, when the “moonlight murders” begin again. Is it a copycat or something even more sinister? A lonely high school girl, with dark secrets of her own, may be the key to catching the murderer.
