Skipping the fact Screen Junkies did a Christmas movie THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING (grumble, grumble), as usual, they nail how bizarre Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is. Also, I understand how ironic it is that I’m complaining about a Holiday show is being done the week of Thanksgiving but I’m still posting about it. Message understood.
Screen Junkies does something different with this evisceration, they sing their review with interjected comments from their regularly scheduled commentator. All in all, the song is entertaining in its own right and maybe should just become a new Holiday jingle for kids. Or adults on acid.
Look, I’m sure I’m not alone in loving this movie, hell, I grew up watching it every holiday season. I even watched it when I was well into adulthood. I also like very weird and bizarre things so my adoration of this weird and bizarre retelling of a children’s Christmas song isn’t that much of a stretch. Also, I really identified with the Island of Misfit Toys. True story.
The moral of the story, being different is bad unless your difference is useful.
