Here we go again. More Ghostbusters controversy. This time Honest Trailers goes after the reboot. They even preemptively disabled the comments section knowing how crazy people get on this subject.
The original Ghostbusters is my absolute favorite movie of all time. It has been since I first saw it when it opened in 1984. So, this is a subject close to my heart. I have to say, I found Honest Trailers’ treatment of the reboot to be very… honest. Good work team.
I wouldn’t call this the funniest thing Honest Trailers has ever done. But I think they did an awesome job of addressing the biggest thing around the movie, which is the crazy fan hatred that it inspired, and the fact that it wasn’t great, but it wasn’t the freaking apocalypse either. Most notably saying ‘After a summer full of duds… [Ghostbusters] proves once and for all, that girls can make middle of the road, studio mandated franchise bank, just as well as the boys’. Ha! I tip my proton pack to you, Screen Junkies!
Take a look and see for yourself. But don’t comment, because you can’t. Haters.
